From Becher to Blume – Photographs from the Garnatz Collection and Die Photographische Sammlung/SK Stiftung Kultur in Dialogue
The focus of the exhibition is on photographs from the collection of Ute and Eberhard Garnatz in dialogue with works from the Photographic Collection / SK Stiftung Kultur. Over 150 exhibits will be shown, some of which are extensive serial works by 22 artists who have shaped younger German photography through innovative contributions and who continue to have a major influence on the artistic medium.
At the same time, the show gives an exciting insight into photography in the 1980s and 1990s, a time in which innovative and still influential images and concepts were created. The art scene of the Rhineland plays a special role here, with numerous local artists, museums, galleries and collectors. Ute and Eberhard Garnatz were part of this extremely lively event, have put together their impressive collection with commitment and a feeling for quality. In addition to painting and sculpture, her passion was photography, which is now also the focus of this presentation.
